About Him
Most people I have met would regard me as having been born about a hundred years later than I ought to have been. I would like to say that I am passionate about certain things - but the word passionate is bandied about carelessly.
I am told that I have a mischievous sense of humour, but I am quite cautious around people I am unfamiliar with - and have initially shy tendencies.
I can tell you that I enjoy singing and karaoke and listening to a wide range of music, and that I have a fascination with British history, culture and family history research (which I have pursued avidly since I was ten years old). I also enjoy excursions around the rural locale, particularly around the Dorset villages and simply going for a walk with the family dog. Church on a Sunday is often a highlight of my week - as I sing with the choir.
I take an interest in politics. I am an advocate for freedom of speech, at the very least. I think it is extremely important to be able to verbally express oneself in a democratic society. I cannot abide this fascist 'progressive' mentality that is being cultivated in our universities that subscribes to persecuting those who think differently or hold different opinions - all in the name of political correctness. This is important to my outlook on life.
I am an avid reader. George Orwell's "1984" and Ernest Poole's "His Family" have significantly changed my perceptions and views of the world - and my hopes for the future. I am current trying to work my way through The Bible (Revised English Version) from start to finish (plus daily readings) and Orwell's essay "On Nationalism".
I am a Publican by trade and own a business with my father (who is my mentor and teacher in the art of barkeeping) - and expect this to be my lifelong profession.
I am a simple man with simple wants and needs. I come from a medium sized family and want to have a family of my own and make my own little mark on the world by doing it successfully as my parents have done. A traditional Christian way of life is all I seek.

Qualities I would desire in a partner consist of tendencies toward honesty, loyalty and integrity. We are not perfect people. Only Christ is perfect - and we can all aspire to his example.
If I am honest - somebody who has a head for organisation and planning would be a welcome partner - as I have no real experience or talent for these things.
A tendency to morbid obesity is a deal breaker. I could definitely lose weight myself and am guilty of eating unhealthily - but having somebody that would lead me deeper into gluttony would not be good for my overall sense of well-being.
A complete deal breaker for me would be that you would not like children. I really would like a family of my own with as many children as God deigns to give us - I very much aspire to my parent's example of a good and fruitful marriage. An interest in bringing up children in the Christian faith is integral to this, I believe (and hope that you would too).
